Emilie Ohana Quartet
French American actress and singer, Emilie Ohana, accompanied by a wonderful ensemble of talented Portuguese jazz musicians, invites the audience into an intimate world where jazz standards, storytelling and spoken word intertwine with humour, sensuality and vulnerability.
Moving between smoky swing and haunting ballads, timeless songs once carried by voices like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Abbey Lincoln and Nina Simone are revisited through a singular journey exploring what she calls “the grammar of love.”
Blending poetic spoken interludes with music, the performance moves seamlessly between humour and melancholy, desire and heartbreak, memory and letting go, creating a world that feels at once deeply personal and universally familiar.
More than a jazz concert, it is a live experience about everything love leaves behind.
